Flame Powder Marking

This marking method uses an oxy-fuel flame to create a zinc oxide marking layer. The principle is similar to flame spraying.

The main benefit is that the marking is created by adding a layer to the surface of the material without impacting it mechanically.

The marking powder is transported from the storage container through the oxygen stream into the flame, where the zinc oxide is formed.

The oxide is then sprayed onto the metal sheet, creating a thin line of adjustable width and thickness.

The line follows the track of the CNC machine. Text can be written, and letters can be used to identify sheets or cut parts.

Additionally, lines or spots can be drawn on the sheet's surface to indicate subsequent process positions. Flame powder marking technology can be installed on autogen or plasma cutting machines.

  • Flame powder marking produces highly visible, long-lasting, corrosion-resistant, and mechanically robust lines of consistent thickness ranging from 0.8 to 4.0 mm.
  • No scratches or notches are produced when adding the layer.
  • Only a standard autogen gas supply (oxygen and fuel gas) is needed for marking; no special gas or energy is required.
  • This technology is ideal for marking zinc-coated and primed sheet surfaces.
  • It is a low-noise process.
  • It works with all types of autogen or plasma cutting machines.
